Maxine was a founding member of the Rho Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at Virginia Tech. In establishing this scholarship, Maxine's love of the engineering profession lives on by helping other young women realize their dreams of being engineers and scientists. Last fall, the eighth Maxine Shelly Turner Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Olivia Loa, a senior Chemical Engineering major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
