Maxine Shelly Turner Memorial Scholarship Fund
Investing Excellence in Engineering and Technical Science
|
This scholarship honors Maxine Shelly Turner who was killed in the Virginia Tech
slayings on April 16, 2007. Maxine was a senior majoring in Chemical Engineering at
the university and was due to graduate with honors in May of that year.
Maxine was a founding member of the Rho Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon at
Virginia Tech. In establishing this scholarship, Maxine's love of the engineering
profession lives on by helping other young women realize their dream of being
engineers and scientists. Last fall, the second Maxine Shelly Turner Memorial
Scholarship was awarded to Michelle Brenner, a student at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, and evaluations are underway with the 2010-2011 scholarship
applications.
Donations to the fund will be accepted in the month of APRIL each year and can be
made via cash, check, money order, or credit card. Because of limited resources and
the effect on other fundraising efforts, public donations to this fund will ONLY be
accepted during this one-month period. All donations received outside of this time
window will be directed to the Foundation's general fund.
Checks and money orders should be made payable to "Alpha Omega Epsilon National
Foundation, Inc." and sent to:

Alpha Omega Epsilon National Foundation, Inc. via JustGive.org. JustGive.org accepts
